Celebrate Dad’s special day with a sumptuous Thai feast at Blue Jasmine! Kick off the celebratory meal with a tantalising Tam Mua Seafood Salad. There’s something for everyone in this mouth-watering platter of appetisers. Assembled around a bed of rice noodles are green papaya salad with carrots, prawns, mussels, squids, blanched long beans, fresh tomato wedges, and hardboiled egg. Served on the side is a moreish Thai-style dressing that includes chilli, garlic, lime juice, tamarind sauce, and peanuts.
Savour Blue Jasmine’s take on the classic street food snack – the Deep-Fried Thai Fish Cake with Cucumber Relish. Featuring minced fish and prawn blended with red curry paste, finely sliced long beans and kaffir lime leaves, the fishcakes are complemented exceptionally well by Thai achar – a tangy union of cucumber, onion, chilli and peanuts pickled in a house-made vinegar blend.
Tuck into the comforting Tom Kar Gai, a creamy soup with the perfect level of sourness, sweetness, spice, and savouriness all at once. Every sip of the coconut milk-based soup ignites the tastebuds with the flavours of boneless kampong chicken, tomato, onion, oyster and shimeji mushrooms, kaffir lime leaf, galangal, lime juice, fish sauce, palm sugar, and lemongrass.
Thereafter, devour the menu’s hearty mains, paired best with steamed jasmine rice. The Sun-Dried Chicken with Green Chilli Dip features marinated chicken that is placed in a combi oven to mimic the traditional sun-drying style typically used in Thai kampungs. The crispy fried chicken is accompanied by a refreshing green chilli dip finished with a touch of lime juice.
Not to be missed is the Gaeng Som, a tangy, spicy curry made with a homemade turmeric chilli paste and deep-fried sea bass with long bean and green papaya.
A Chinese-style dish made specially for dads this Father’s Day, the Nai Bai with Abalone offers the pleasingly familiar flavours of nai bai stir-fried with shiitake, carrot and abalone in a garlic and oyster sauce.
Leave room for the Thai Dessert Platter. Included in the indulgent selection of desserts is Tako, a layered Thai coconut pudding, Thai Sago Coconut balls covered with freshly grated coconut, and Koswee, a Singapore-style Nonya dessert made with gula melaka and rice flour, coated in desiccated coconut.
