Yet to decide where to break fast during the month of Ramadan? Fret not, Blue Jasmine, a 100-seater halal Thai restaurant in Park Hotel Farrer Park has got you covered. Over the course of two weeks, Iftar at Blue Jasmine Halal Buffets begins with a Seafood Feast from 13 to 19 May 2019 and ends with a Grill & Roast Night Buffet from 20 to 26 May 2019. Despite having two distinctive themes, the traditional familiar flavours of Ramadan are present while incorporating regional flavours into their specially curated menus.
During this month of fasting, when the practice is meant to develop empathy, kindness and patience, count your blessings in togetherness with your family and friends by inviting them to a night of generosity at Blue Jasmine. Whether you are craving a catch from the sea or some roasts, whether your appetites are large or larger, Blue Jasmine offers you the choice between two delectable menus – or, better yet, try them both!
Wind down after sunset, amidst the lush greenery of Park Hotel Farrer Park’s outdoor seating at Level 5. Start light and fresh with Rojak Buah, juicy chunks of pineapple, guava, honeydew and cucumber tossed in shrimp sauce and topped off with roasted ground peanuts. If you prefer a warm start, choose the hot appetizers such as Thai Crab Cake with herbs or Tom Yum Red with Seafood to warm that tummy of yours.
When it is time to bring out the big guns, have a soulful bowl of Seafood Lemak Chilli Api: mussels and clams in a spicy stew made with a blend of spices such as lemongrass and fresh turmeric, and coconut milk.
Savour the Ayam Masak Merah, marinated chicken thigh cooked with tomato paste and an array of spices such as chilli, galangal and lime leaf, a fragrant dish that brings forth a medley of flavours while deciding what to feast on from the live station.
The live station is a theatre of assorted grilled seafood, each with an individual marinade to bring out the umami ocean flavours. Choose from perfectly grilled prawns, squid, fish and crayfish. These savoury grilled delights will definitely keep you wanting for more throughout the seafood night.
After a week of seafood appreciation comes some charred goodness from the Grill & Roast Night. Whet your palate and add some greens to your meal with the Gado Gado Salad, a mix of vegetables including cabbage, long beans and potato with a generous pour of satay sauce and garnished with fish crackers for more crunch. Kick-start the meat festival with the Devil Wings and pump up the heat.
From the live station, choose from an assortment of juicy and tender grilled meats such as beef, lamb chop, chicken satay, and chicken thigh – all marinated differently. For instance, the chicken thigh is marinated with a house-made paste comprising spices and herbs such as turmeric, galangal, lemongrass and fish sauce.
Towards the end of every Iftar night, sweeten things up with a cup of Coconut Pudding with Berry Compotes: a smooth and creamy pudding accompanied with an assortment of sweet and sour fruits.
Spread Ramadan’s manifold blessings by having Iftar with your family and friends and treating them to a scrumptious buffet at Blue Jasmine. Make this Ramadan the best one yet.
