British Gastrobar Cask and Bangers Singapore is here. Officially opened on today in the heart of Clarke Quay, the uber-cool beer and food pub promises to add more zest to Singapore’s trendiest nightspot. Fitted with a warm and modern contemporary interior and a superb sound system, Cask and Bangers Singapore combine an extensive range of drinks and live pop rock music from the 80’s to the 90’s with a selection of good food. It has the only live band in the Clarke Quay area to play this genre of music.
Party like back in the day with Cask and Bangers’ five-man resident band Energy, fronted by veteran performer and former Singapore Idol Judge Douglas Oliveiro. Other veterans of Singapore’s music scene will join him to play a repertoire of Adult Contemporary songs from popular bands of the 80’s to the 90’s including The Police, Coldplay, Queen and U2, in a throwback to the good old days. They will also cover current hit songs from different genres including pop, rock, soul and alternative.
Cask and Bangers’ British-style diner experience is not without delicious food. Some of its signature dishes include British-inspired fare such as English Burger, a beef burger with classic English breakfast ingredients like sausages, bacon, fried egg, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and onions ($32);
Guinness Burger, grilled beef patty drizzled with creamy Guinness sauce which enhances the flavour of the burger ($29); Roast Beef Sandwich, the classic roast beef in brioche bread with lemon mayonnaise, lettuce and freshly cut tomatoes ($17);
and Little Piggy Pizza, hand-made pizza with tomato base topped with salami which creates a more juicy and balanced flavour ($24).
The menu also offers a range of British-Indian food, which has been part of the English culinary culture for decades. They include Chicken Tikka, a chargrilled chicken dish which originated from the Punjab region in India ($18); Chilli Paneer, an Indo-Chinese appetiser made using cottage cheese stir fried in a spicy and tangy sauce ($16); and Lamb Biryani, a casserole dish combining tender lamb curry and fragrant saffron rice, and served with cooling cucumber raita on the side ($28).
The large selection of drinks includes a specially-curated collection of ‘Strictly British Only’ craft beers, ciders, gin, and gin and beer cocktails. Diners can also choose from other beverages such as IPA, lager and many more.
Puneet Agarwal, CEO & Director, said: “Clarke Quay is Singapore’s premier nightlife scene and houses many excellent restaurants, bars and live bands. At Cask and Bangers, we are looking to combine all three – food, drinks and entertainment – in a relaxing atmosphere that is both unique and delightful. We believe the beer aficionado will be impressed with our beer selection while those who enjoy live music will be entertained by our resident band, Energy.”
