People are most likely to pet dogs and cats. But owning a pet is not as easy as it seems. As a dog owner, it is your responsibility to take good care of your fur friends, provide them with a good nutritional diet, bath them with the best shampoo and groom them well. Especially if you own dogs, such as Huskies or Shih Tzu or any other double-coated breeds they require extra grooming as compared to single-coated breeds.
Nonetheless, grooming is essential whatever pet you may own. What some people do is that they take their dogs to professional groomers rather than grooming themselves, whereas some people think of doing it on their own. If you are one of the latter ones, you need to know that grooming will not be all trouble-free.
To begin, the very first and foremost necessity will be to have a Dog Grooming Table if you plan on grooming your fur friend at home. It will assist in handling your dog so much easily. So it’s almost requisite. But, there’s a catch. Some good dog grooming tables can cost you a lot. And definitely you wouldn’t want to spend a handful of money to get a table.
You can craft one on your own. With some skills and the right tools or equipment, you can DIY a next to perfect grooming table for your pooch. Once you are done with designing the table you will then need to equip it with the right pet supplies that are specifically for your pet.
If you own a Shih Tzu, you need to bring the best shampoo for ShihTzus, the cleaning kits, cutting or shaving devices, etc. that suits your pooch and you will be good to go. You can easily get these supplies from a pet supply store or you can search it online.
To make a grooming table, you will need to gather the right items first. For that you will need;
Instructions:
Decide the correct height of the table first according to your dog. The height should be easy enough for the dog to step up and for you to work on the pet. Around 24-26 inches is usually fine.
Cut the legs around 24 inches in length to get the right height when including the table surface.
Then cut the plywood accordingly in proper width and length so that it fits accurately as the top sheet.
After both, the plywood and the legs are cut, attach them together with the help of screws.
When the tabletop is done, cover it with a rubber mat and secure the mat with nails so that it doesn’t slip off.
You can also attach a grooming arm or a circular hook to the end of the table, to help your dog stand steady while grooming. And there you have your DIY dog grooming table!
