This October, The Fullerton Hotels Singapore will present a curated Fullerton Pink Afternoon Tea in support of the Breast Cancer Foundation’s (BCF) dedication to raising awareness, promoting early detection of the illness and supporting those affected by breast cancer in Singapore. Available from 1 to 31 October 2021, S$5 nett from the proceeds of each adult-priced Pink Afternoon Tea set will be donated to BCF. This will be served at The Courtyard, located at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, and The Landing Point, located at The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore.
“Since 2017, The Fullerton Hotels Singapore have supported Breast Cancer Foundation’s mission to bring awareness to the cause with our Pink Afternoon Tea. We hope that through this initiative, we will be able to deepen awareness amongst our guests while raising funds to contribute meaningfully to the community,” said Giovanni Viterale, General Manager of The Fullerton Hotels and Resorts.
“We are grateful to The Fullerton Hotels Singapore for curating the Pink Afternoon Tea, as a meaningful way to contribute to the breast cancer community in Singapore. Through this fund-raising initiative, we hope to drive awareness to the importance of breast health and early detection through regular check-ups, in line with our mission to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease,” said Ms Staphnie Tang, Breast Cancer Foundation President.
Aligned with BCF’s month-long campaign, the Pink Afternoon Tea draws inspiration from the iconic Pink Ribbon that symbolises the foundation’s mission to provide support for breast cancer patients. With an array of rose-hued creations dreamed up by Executive Pastry Chef Siddharth Prabhu, guests can look forward to a teatime indulgence that tastes as charming as it looks, for a good cause.
Elegantly presented on three tiers, the Pink Afternoon Tea set comprises a selection of savoury and sweet patisserie in a palette of pink, freshly crafted by Executive Pastry Chef Siddharth Prabhu and his team.
Brimming with lively flavours from sea and land, the savoury line- up awakens one’s palate from the late-afternoon lull: Tasmanian salmon blini with cherry shrimp and marinated cucumber; court- bouillon tiger prawn with pink onion relish; pepper beef pastrami with lingonberry mayonnaise in a mini wafer cup; maple-glazed, tea-smoked duck on beetroot bagel; truffled free-range egg and chive in mini saffron bun; and the classic telegraph cucumber sandwich with sundried tomato mayonnaise on wholemeal bread.
For dessert, indulge in a rosy repertoire of treats infused with fragrant pairings of floral and fruity notes: strawberry rhubarb swiss roll, raspberry lychee financier; red currant Valrhona Manjari chocolate tart; sakura mascarpone red velvet cupcake; and bandung macaron. Staying true to the English ritual, the afternoon tea experience is replete with the quintessential classic scones and raisin scones served with fresh clotted cream and jam, as well as a fine selection of teas.
In line with the campaign, the façade of The Fullerton Hotel Singapore will also be lit up in pink daily from 4 to 31 October 2021, from 7.00 p.m. onwards. In addition, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital’s General Surgery Department, in collaboration with BCF, will launch a month-long exhibition showcasing artworks created by healthcare professionals and breast cancer patients. This will be held at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore’s East Garden Gallery. Titled “Celebrating Life, Together”, the exhibition will run from 4 to 30 October 2021, and all proceeds from the artwork sales will be donated to BCF.
