Gravity Rooftop Bar – Penang’s Latest Night Life Trendsetter

This rooftop bar boasts a spellbinding skyline view with 360- degree panoramic view of the island, from the lush greenery of George Town to the iconic Penang Bridge with a mesmerising sunset scenery to boot. Many great events have taken place at Gravity – birthday celebrations, wedding proposals, year-end parties, business meetings, cocktail parties and even pre-wedding photoshoots which capitalise on the breathtaking colour-changing sky as the ultimate backdrop. 

Taking cues from Bangkok’s dining in the sky concept, Gravity is one of the few rooftop bars in Penang that has successfully pull in crowds, week after week for its novelty dining experience. This latest addition to the gentrification Penang offers some palate pleasing bar bites, intriguing cocktails and drinks coupled with stirring background music that is set to match the view.

A new menu has just launched recently, featuring 14 choices that are perfect to serve for intimate couples and a large group of friends. The star on the menu specially created to match with the drinks is Satay Lilit Ayam, the Balinese style grilled chicken on lemongrass skewers made from minced chicken with yellow spices & palm sugar, offering a promising juicy & fragrance bite.  

Another highly recommended snack would be Volcano Prawns which is served with spicy mango and pomegranate salsa for a bursting flavour in the mouth. It also comes with crispy wanton chips on the side for a crunchy treat. Guests will also be able to enjoy shared pizzas, burgers and interesting bar bites such as Beef Sliced Lollipop and Yakitori Chicken Meatball with a modern Asian twist to hype up the night.

A round shape LED-light bar is centred in the seating area, creating a moonlight feel to brighten up the space at night with busy bartenders making a long list of orders for fellow aficionados. Guests can order from the exceptional drink menu of some specially curated concoctions by the in-house mixologists.

Signature mocktails include JK Jam, a perfect refreshing sundowner with hues of a setting sun in your glass made from orange juice, mango juice, and a thin layer of grenadine syrup, blended with lemonade juice and garnished with lychee fruit. A must-try cocktail on the menu would be Pomegranate Mojito. This spin on the mint-and-lime classic added with delicious pomegranate syrup, spice rum and soda water presents a deep purplish red drink that is so tasty to imbibe. Other well-stocked spirits, liquors, beers and even non-alcoholic beverages are available too. 

Sun-seeking guests can come for Happy Hour from 5pm – 7pm to enjoy buy one free one on all house pours or enjoy the Wine O’Clock promotion at only RM75 nett per person per hour for freeflow of red and white wines. Open seven days a week, the bar begins service at 5pm until 1 am, reservations highly recommended.
