There are some trips on our travel bucket lists that have to wait. There are places that we’ll happily leave until the kids have left home and we can go off on an adult-only adventure. A trip to Thailand doesn’t have to be one of them. A luxury trip to Thailand can be the perfect family getaway. With waterparks, animal sanctuaries, and rich culture, it’s the perfect place to explore with children and if you are looking to treat yourselves to a little luxury, there’s no better place to do it. Here are some tips to help you to plan a luxury family break to Thailand.
To enter Thailand from the majority of countries with effect from 1st July 2022, fully vaccinated visitors (2 doses) only have to travel with their passport, proof of vaccination uploaded to a web-based system, and the relative visa if your stay is longer than 30 days. Unvaccinated visitors will need to have proof of a RT-PCR test within 72 hours before departure time. Proof of accommodation and specific insurance is no longer required. However, requirements and the need for things like vaccine passports can change, so make sure you check before you travel not forgetting to check your own country’s entry rules for your return journey as these can change regularly. Upgrade Your Flights
A lack of direct flights means that the average flight time from the US to Thailand is nearly 18 hours. This is a long time for children to sit on a plane, and if you can upgrade your flights, it can make things easier and give you a way to enjoy a little luxury from the very start of your trip.
Of course, you don’t have to fly the whole way. If you want a different experience, or you are flying into Bangkok and staying on one of the Islands, sleeper trains and connecting boats to your chosen beach can be a fantastic option, adding a bit of adventure to your trip.
Bangkok is a fantastic destination for families, with plenty to do and see, and lots of easy ways to get about. But it can be very crowded and quite overwhelming, especially for children. Booking an island villa with Thailand Retreats can be a fantastic alternative and a great way to enjoy a little luxury.
Whether you are staying in mainland Thailand or on one of the many wonderful islands, there’s bound to be lots that you want to do. The good news is that getting about is fairly easy for a family. Boats run regularly between the islands, flying within Thailand is fairly cheap and accessible, and the bus and train systems are very good for tourists.
The bad news is, that you are unlikely to fit everything that you want to do into one visit. Write a list of things that you’d love to do during your visit to Thailand, including things like snorkelling and diving, visiting temples, particular restaurants you’d like to try, and waterparks and other tourist attractions, and then write an itinerary. Some things you’ll be able to book online before you travel, but often you can get cheaper deals if you book locally.
If you want to explore a particular area, especially one that’s off the beaten track, or you want to embrace the culture and visit important cultural sites, hiring a good guide is a fantastic option. They’ll help you to stay safe, give you lots of information, and add plenty of detail to your visit. They’ll also give you tips on how to spend the rest of your time in Thailand.
A luxury family break to Thailand can be an excellent idea. Filled with culture, adventure, and nature, it’s the perfect destination for any age group.
