If you are searching for a tranquil nature escape without leaving the city, the Mandai Boardwalk is the newest must-visit attraction in Singapore. Open to the public from 14 January 2025, this scenic 3.3km boardwalk offers breathtaking views of Upper Seletar Reservoir while immersing you in the beauty of local wildlife and lush greenery.
Located within the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, this free-access boardwalk meanders along the edges of River Wonders and Singapore Zoo, giving you a rare opportunity to observe native wildlife and even catch glimpses of some of the animals housed in the Singapore Zoo. Whether you are a nature lover, photography enthusiast, or simply looking for a peaceful outdoor retreat, the boardwalk promises an unforgettable experience.
As you stroll along the Mandai Boardwalk, you will come across five thematic stations and a lookout point, each inspired by the rich biodiversity of the region. These beautifully designed stops celebrate the connection between forest and water ecosystems, enhancing your appreciation of Singapore’s natural environment.
One of the key features of the Mandai Boardwalk is its sustainable and eco-conscious design. Unlike traditional boardwalks, this structure is elevated to allow native wildlife to move freely underneath, minimising human impact. Additionally, mature trees on-site were carefully preserved, and low-impact construction techniques were used to avoid disrupting the natural habitat.
The boardwalk is also strategically closed between dusk and dawn to respect nocturnal animals and ensure visitor safety. With its water-edge vegetation enhancements, it is a thriving habitat for birds, butterflies, dragonflies, and other biodiversity.
The Mandai Boardwalk is free to access and open daily from 7am to 7pm. You can enter from two convenient locations:
