Close your eyes and count to ten: Ready or not, Otah & Friends await! This holiday, gather your crew to enter an alternate otter-verse and spend a day in the home of Otah & Friends! From the creators of The Bubble Tea Factory, Southeast Asia’s first bubble tea-themed attraction comes Singapore’s first otter-themed escapade. For a limited time only from 15 December 2020 to 26 February 2021, local collective El Masnou transforms the popular otter hotspot, Gardens by the Bay into an otter-this-world experience that brings together two favourites of Singaporeans – otters, and photo-taking!
Spanning 2,500 square feet of a fantasy world, the immersive 45-minute experience challenges you to seek Otah out before the cookies in his oven burn. As you explore his home in search of him, expect to be treated to a feast for the senses the moment you step through his door. Once inside, you will get to traverse his visually-stunning and brightly coloured rooms; revel in the yummy scent of cookies baking in his oven; rummage through his cabinets to look for clues; lounge amidst the lush foliage; and wrap up the experience with a visit to Otah’s lemonade cart in his backyard! You can also discover hidden dioramas that spotlight the joyful moments of Otah and his secret tenants.
At every turn, you are encouraged to capture otter-ly cute and instagrammable photos as they discover the secrets and wonders of the space. Through the experience, Otah & Friends hopes to be a timely reminder for you to find positivity in the little things all around us. After finding Otah successfully, you will be rewarded with Otah’s favourite refreshments to savour – refreshing lemonade, and soft-baked ooey-gooey cookies from the instafamous homegrown bakery, Whiskdom. That’s not all! Fans of Otah can also look forward to doing some shopping for the adorable Otah & Friends collectibles from the merchandise store!
Mr Tan Weiting, Managing Director, El Masnou said, “With each new experience that we launch, our foremost consideration is the happiness per square feet that we can bring to our visitors. Following our success with The Bubble Tea Factory, we thought about how we could spotlight another Singaporean favourite – otters and decided to centre this familiar local resident in our whimsical take on the well-loved and nostalgic game of hide-and-seek. This will also be the first instalment of a series of otter-themed experiences that we hope to present. We invite everyone to come embark on this adventure with Otah & Friends, and hope to provide a dose of happiness in these trying times.”
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors, Otah & Friends will adhere closely to prevailing safe management measures such as temperature taking of all staff and visitors, as well as routine sanitisation and disinfection between each group of visitors. In addition, each time slot will only admit a group of up to five visitors.
Otah & Friends open from 15 December 2020 and you can get your tickets online at www.otahandfriends.com. Tickets are available at $15 per person and groups of five will enjoy a special rate of $12 per person, with the added bonus of having the whole space to themselves.
