PARKROYAL on Pickering – Thorny Temptations Durian Feast!

Folks who love durians would never be able to resist an evening feast with the King Of Fruits. Love it or loathe it, durians have the power to bond people and create conversations. PARKROYAL on Pickering Lime Restaurant is proud to present Thorny Temptations, a buffet extravaganza where durians take centre stage! This feast will appeal to guests who adore durians or who are finally ready to taste the aromatic fruit for the very first time!

From 7 July 2017, Lime restaurant invites you to embark on a gastronomy journey that will take your taste buds to where they have never been before. The durian aroma will make you weak at your knees and the best part is that you won’t need to wait until dessert time to indulge in the thorny fruit as Executive Chef Eric Ong will tease you in with a selection of savoury dinner items infused with durian in various forms.

Start with the Poached Tiger Prawn, Durian Mousse, Quinoa and Crunchy Vegetables Salad or Foie Gras Torchon with Torched Meringue and Durian Powder, before moving nicely on to a wide selection of mouth-watering durian-ized main dishes. Some of the highlights include Durian Ravioli with Sage and Garlic Butter, and Grilled Chicken and Durian in Tortilla, while Gulai Fish Curry with Fermented Durian, and Prata with Durian and Gula Melaka are available for those who like Indian food. If you’re up for some Asian spice, the must-haves include Butter Durian Prawn with Curry Leaves and Chilli Padi, and the Wok Fried Prawn and Petai with Sambal Durian!

Durian, in its rawest form, thorny shells and all, is best enjoyed the traditional way by the roadside stalls. Take a trip down memory lane and head to the specially demarcated area at the buffet that is set up like an old-fashioned durian stall. Here, the chefs will pop open the king of all fruits for your picking, one durian at a time. Nostalgia will set in and memories of durian gatherings will come flooding back. Remember, it is all you can eat so feel free to visit and revisit the stall again for the best D24 and Mao Shan Wang can offer.
