St Regis Mooncakes 2019 menu offers time-honoured baked mooncakes appealing to connoisseurs of the traditional craft, while its ensemble of snow skin mooncakes introduces a wealth of flavours including three entirely new and irresistible creations!
Making its debut is the Chendol Paste with Melon Seeds Snow Skin Mooncake ($76.00+ per box of 8). Wrapped in a visually appealing jade-marbled skin, the locally inspired chendol mooncake features lotus paste exuding robust flavours of aromatic coconut and gula melaka, complete with bits of melon seeds for a wonderful crunch.
Yet another new creation is the purple-coloured Taro Paste with Salted Egg Yolk Truffle and Almond Flakes Snow Skin Mooncake ($78.00+ per box of 8). The sweet taro perfectly balances out the saltiness of the salted egg yolk truffle, inducing a tantalising explosion of textures and flavours on the palate by this harmonious marriage of an otherwise unexpected sweet-savoury combination.
Fans of bubble teas will be delighted by this tea-infused gem – sans the quintessential tapioca pearls – of Royal Milk Tea Paste with Oolong Tea Truffle Snow Skin Mooncake ($78.00+ per box of 8). Encased in a yellow snow skin, expect an intense creaminess with every bite that comes from the moreish combination of an indulgent yet mildly bitter Oolong tea truffle core and its surrounding milk tea-infused lotus paste.
A crowd-pleaser, the returning Black Sesame Paste with Salted Peanut Truffle Snow Skin Mooncake ($78.00+ per box of 8) features a nutritious-blend of rich and smooth black sesame paste that encases a luscious salted peanut truffle, seemingly like a play on a local iconic dessert of black sesame tang yuans (glutinous rice balls) in sweet peanut soup – with a twist; that is normally enjoyed during reunions.
Finally, delighting those with a penchant for the “King of Fruits”, the creamy, indulgent Pure “Mao Shan Wang” Durian Snow Skin Mooncake ($118.00+ per box of 8) harbours a generous filling of pure Mao Shan Wang puree enveloped in an activated charcoal snow skin accentuated with hints of gold. This is undoubtedly an inviting, returning favourite!
