Summerlong Singapore known for its beachside vibes has launched its new healthy, yet comfortingly simple take on brunch in the heart of Robertson Quay. This menu focuses on fresh, nutritionally nurturing ingredients, delivering guests into a warm, welcoming and chilled environment. Channelling his culinary creativity straight into Summerlong Singapore, Chef Kyle Michael Henderson ensures the menu is every bit as delicious as it is nourishing.
Introducing The Counter (S$23++), the best way to enjoy the light and seasonally appropriate new offering. Check out the wide selection of salads, grains and house-baked treats. Each item is prepared with fresh seasonal ingredients, inspired by the Mediterranean, showcasing vegetables in all its glory. Simply pick up a plate, go to the counter and enjoy the glory! Some highlights include: Grilled Eggplant – charcoal grilled with a simple dressing of yoghurt, chilli and herbs, Miso Broccoli – steamed broccoli tossed with a garlic, green chilli and white wine dressing, finished off with almonds, and the Roasted Pumpkin – oven roasted local pumpkin with a tahini lemon dressing, caramelized onions- finished with a crunchy bite of pumpkin seeds and chopped herbs.
Amongst the highlights of the brunch experience is the Real Turkish Breakfast (S$35++) which is full of harmonious contradictions; vibrant and bold yet familiar and comforting. The main plate consists of a spiced merguez sausage with Turkish beans and a cucumber & tomato side salad for a fresh bite. This is served alongside Turkish Eggs in a warm yoghurt and chilli spiced browned butter, accompanied with a variety of delicious condiments such as spinach and feta borek, sour cherry jam, harissa, honey ricotta, cured beef, labneh, smoked olives, mandarin orange and feta cheese. The combination truly transports you to the exotic shores of Turkey.
Be sure to try the memorable Shakshuka (S$26++) packing quite a punch. Rustically presented and bursting with exceptional flavours, the baked eggs are cooked to perfection, balanced with a lovely sweetness from the rich tomato ragout and a smoky spice from the merguez sausage. Finished with soft feta cheese and served alongside toasted sourdough to soak up the juices, this hearty dish is a bright and spicy start to the weekend. Alternatively, you can also go for their Falafel Scotch Egg (S$22++).
For those inclined towards a lighter meal, try the Whole Grilled Avocado on Sourdough (S$22++). This interpretation of a millennial’s ultimate brunch classic comes with a generous helping of Meredith goat feta cheese, lemon and garlic breadcrumbs, pickled fennel and a gooey sunny side up egg. The whole avocado is grilled on charcoal for deliciously smoky char on the outside.
For an equally healthy option, the Haloumi & Herb Grain Bowl (S$22++) is abundant with fresh ingredients and lots of love. The base of this hearty dish is filled with mixed grains topped with grilled haloumi, carrots cooked in honey and cumin seed, sliced avocado, herb salad and fennel pickled in grain vinegar for a zesty finale. We recommend going full out and adding a sous-vide soft egg for the ultimate touch.
Wash down the delicious dishes with selection specialty drinks, ranging from Juice & Smoothies to Spritzers, decadent Milkshakes and homemade Kombucha. Bring temperatures down a notch with three ice-cold spritzers. These refreshing tipples include the Cucumber Gin Remedy, Aperol Spritz and Pimm’s Summer Lemonade, all priced at S$15++ by the glass and S$50++ by the jug.
For a vitamin-packed-helper, juice options such as Healthy Green, Orange Glow and Bright & Pink are the ultimate health-conscious statement, all priced at S$10++. For something more filling the smoothie options showcase winning flavour combinations. Discover a world of wellness with the Mixed Berries (S$13++), Mango & Peach (S$13++) and Kiwi & Avocado (S$15++).
For a wholesome, thirst-quenching drink, why not try Summerlong’s homemade Kombucha (S$10++). With a perfect balance of both sour and sweet, the house blend will change its flavour every two weeks. Amongst the appearing flavour options is Apple and Cinnamon – reminiscent of green apples, citrus fruits with a refreshing and zesty kick and Original delicious without flavouring and built from a guarded recipe. Perfect as a replacement for sugary soft drinks or a non-alcoholic choice. Summerlong’s fresh, bold flavours, and exceptional beverages are a crowd-pleaser all year round.
