The Legian Sire Lombok, is all set to officially open in May 2020. Located on one of Lombok’s finest beaches, the 3.8 kilometre Sire Beach, the all-suite and villa resort will have staggering views towards the Gili islands and Bali’s Mount Agung. It will be made up of The Legian Sire, The Club by The Legian Sire, and The Residences by The Legian Sire – which will launch as a second phase of the project and consist of 15 hotel-managed residences for sale.
Set to make a bold and luxurious design statement on the island of Lombok, the hotel interiors are by Studio Affandy & Yeo, a boutique design studio whose founders Agnes Affandy and Shaun Yeo are prodigies of Indonesian design legend Jaya Ibrahim – interior designer of The Legian Seminyak, Bali. Affandy and Yeo’s vision for the Lombok project was to create calm, timeless spaces which compliments Ibrahim’s work at The Legian Seminyak, bringing synergy to the project alongside a strong sense of place.
Local culture and craftsmanship is celebrated throughout, with handwoven ‘Tenun Ikat’ fabrics from Sumba and exquisitely detailed ‘lattice’ walls – hand carved in solid teak from Sumbawa. The Architecture is by award-winning ESA International, headed up by Indonesian talent Putu Edy Semara. Highlights include a two-tiered swimming pool, one tier measuring 70-metres and the other 50-metres and the cleverly designed shape of the resort which allows every spacious suite to have a large, ocean-facing private terrace.
In line with LHM’s aim to offer highly personalised levels of service and exclusivity, The Legian Sire, Lombok is boutique in size with 46 suites, including a penthouse. All of these overlook the sea and are notably generous in size, with the entry-level suites measuring over 100 square metres. One Bedroom Lotus Suites will have expansive terraces each with a beautiful pond cleverly designed to cool Lombok’s warm breeze.

Organic, local and sustainably sourced ingredients will be utilised at The Restaurant – a contemporary a la carte ‘sea-and-farm-to-table’ all-day-dining option. The Vegetarian – Lombok’s only vegetarian restaurant will use only organic, home-grown vegetarian ingredients. Whilst The Lobby Lounge will serve coffee, afternoon tea and cocktails and The Cucina – a casual alfresco dining option will offer salads and freshly caught fish as well as homemade pizza and pasta dishes. Healthy eating will play a central role at The Legian Sire. Located in Indonesia’s West Nusa Tenggara province, Lombok is known for its soft sandy beaches, colourful marine life and the mighty Mount Rinjani – Indonesia’s second-highest peak. Given its proximity to Bali, the island remains remarkably untouched by mass tourism and its ability to offer a completely different, much more rural cultural experience makes it a contrasting counterpart for those visiting Bali. Lombok is much admired for its slow pace, the quality of the water – crystal clear, calm and perfect for swimming, and incredible scenery with forested mountains, paddy fields and coconut palms.
Far from a fly and flop destination, guests of The Legian Sire can snorkel, dive, trek and hike to their heart’s content, thanks to the varied landscape. The hotel is also adjacent to Sire Beach Golf Club – Lombok’s only international championship 18-hole course. Other activities on offer include, guided tours of the island’s waterfalls and a visit to Lombok’s oldest mosque – Bayan Belek – built in 1634. There will also be daily shuttle boats to the neighbouring Gili Air Island, exclusive for hotel guests.
Lombok is easily accessible with more than ten flights a day from Bali, as well as direct flights from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Perth.
Rates for a suite at The Legian Sire, Lombok start from $347++ USD (approx. £270) per night and $613++ USD (approx. £476) per night for the villas at The Club by The Legian Sire, Lombok.
