TONITO Re-opens With Your Favourite Latin American Dishes & Drinks

TONITO Latina American Kitchen reopened in Jewel Changi Airport with the same energy, vibrance, not forgetting comfort food loved by all. After a facelift, the Latin American eatery welcomes past fans and new friends once again, into their warm, family-friendly joint over Latin American staples and tipples.

Helmed by Head Chef Kelvin Khok, the restaurant is now under the management of Singapore-based lifestyle and hospitality group, 1855 F&B. The group houses unique and acclaimed concepts like WAKANUI Grill Dining Singapore, The Spot, Perch Singapore and Kam’s Roast Malaysia.

TONITO Latina American Kitchen – Chef & Crew

Khok started out his culinary journey in 2016 as a trainee in OLA Cocina Del Mar and soon made the cut as a junior sous chef under the guidance of acclaimed Peruvian chef, Daniel Chavez. He was later involved in a stint where he worked closely with Mexican chefs Tamara Chavez and Mario Malvaez, during the opening of TONO Cevicheria, Asia’s first-ever authentic Peruvian Cevicheria. Khok’s passion for Latin American culture was further nurtured through events like “Latinada”, Singapore’s first Latin American Food Festival, which exposed him to the worldview and work practices of prolific Latin American chefs in Asia.

“It was an eye-opener for me! I learned how meticulous these chefs were when it comes to the standards of food preparation, and appreciated that they were expressive with their opinions – it really shaped me as a chef”, explained Khok.

Khok currently leads a team with a passion for the cuisine and love for preparing food for the people who love to eat.

TONITO Latina American Kitchen – Menu Highlights 

The menu features Argentinian style grilled ribeye marinated in chimichurri, Carne Asada, and Peruvian staple Sudado Pescado or fish stew, rich in warm spices which packs a punch. Other notable dishes are tomato-based Mexican Ceviche to wake the palate, and hearty ocean-caught Argentinian Prawn Pasta.

TONITO mainstays include tacos, quesadillas and burritos which marry well with a selection of El Yucateco hot sauces of varying spice levels. Extinguish the heat with an array of Latin American cocktails like Pisco Sour, Chilcano and Pina Colada; or opt for buzz-free Jarritos sodas.
