Visit Singapore – Things To Do In Singapore

Discover Rainforest Wild Asia: Asia’s First Adventure Nature Park

In March 2025, Singapore will introduce a new level of wildlife experience with the opening of Rainforest Wild Asia, Asia’s first adventure-based zoological park. This thrilling addition to the Mandai Wildlife Reserve promises an immersive journey into the vibrant layers of a Southeast Asian rainforest, blending adventure with nature education. You can look forward to a unique blend of scenic vistas, adrenaline-pumping activities, and close encounters with over 29 iconic animal species, from majestic Malayan tigers to the agile François’ langur.

Explore the Rainforest’s Layers and Choose Your Adventure

Rainforest Wild Asia is designed to captivate every type of explorer. From relaxing strolls on universally accessible walkways to high-adventure paths, the park offers varied routes across its 13 hectares of lush landscapes. Guests can experience the rainforest from multiple perspectives, navigating paths through verdant canopies, subterranean caves, and rugged forest trails. A remarkable feature is the Canopy Jump, where thrill-seekers can take a daring leap from a height of 20 metres, an add-on experience that embodies the park’s adventurous spirit.

Meet the Animals in Their Natural Habitat

Rainforest Wild Asia’s unique animal habitats allow creatures like Malayan tigers, sun bears, and Javan langurs to thrive in surroundings that mirror their natural environments. Guests may catch a tiger cooling off in a rock pool or spot the François’ langur deftly moving across The Karsts, a limestone-inspired landscape within the park. The introduction of flexible habitats means you and your loved ones will have different experiences each time, with species like red dholes and babirusas appearing at various intervals to showcase dynamic, natural behaviours.

Themed Zones for an Unforgettable Adventure

Divided into 10 distinct zones, the park offers immersive experiences at every turn. The Forest Floor invites guests to meander among towering trees, cross fallen logs, and spot creatures like the Philippine spotted deer. For those drawn to heights, the Canopy offers elevated walkways where Javan langurs and red-shanked douc langurs can be observed leaping through the treetops. Each zone is designed to deepen visitors’ connection to nature, reinforcing the park’s commitment to conservation through experience.

Engage with Nature Through Unique Add-On Adventures

Rainforest Wild Asia provides not only visually stunning landscapes but also adventurous experiences like Arboreal Bounce and Critter Crawl. These optional add-ons are designed for those eager to dive into the rainforest experience, from bouncing on elevated nets to exploring cave tunnels with only a headlamp. For a taste of speleology, The Cavern replicates the famous Mulu Caves, complete with rugged rock formations, hidden wildlife, and adventurous side paths where guests can explore ancient caves modelled after Sarawak’s renowned UNESCO site.

Encouraging Conservation Through Immersive Design

Mandai Wildlife Group’s commitment to conservation and biodiversity is deeply embedded in Rainforest Wild Asia’s design. Over 7,000 Southeast Asian trees and shrubs have been planted to enrich existing rainforest patches, creating a truly immersive environment that fosters education and connection. As Mike Barclay, Group CEO, explains, “Rainforest Wild Asia aims to inspire a profound sense of wonder and responsibility for our planet.” The park encourages all visitors, from multi-generational families to adrenaline enthusiasts, to embrace nature’s beauty and understand the importance of protecting our ecosystems.
